Milestone: 10 years of Electron Beam Melting Additive Manufacturing.

Today, March 14th, 2024, officially marks the 10-year anniversary of Zenith Tecnica’s creation, and what an incredible journey it has been so far.

To everyone on our team – past, present, permanent, part-time, interns and students – you have each helped shape our organisation into something incredible. We now build life-changing patient-specific medical implants weekly, mission-critical structural hardware for spacecraft headed for deep space and produce specialty components for many other high-performance applications.

To our customers, suppliers, and industry associates, thank you. Your ongoing belief and support have all played a significant role in our journey and we are incredibly excited to continue working and growing alongside you.

Right from the company’s inception, there was a clear vision and goal—to become a leader and worldwide production partner specialising in Electron Beam Melting (EBM) titanium additive manufacturing (AM). It was no small task. But as we soon found out, when lofty ambitions are met with determination and passion – anything is possible.

Back in 2014, metal additive manufacturing (AM), as a production process, was still relatively young in its life cycle, and Electron Beam Melting was even more so. Immediately recognising the immense potential, we embarked on a journey of dedication to mastering EBM and fostering our culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

There were years of trial and error, late nights, R&D, beta testing, providing feedback, and helping improve the technology alongside early adopter customers—customers we have been so lucky to work alongside, many of whom are still customers today!

Through sheer will and our can-do Kiwi attitude, we have built one of the most experienced teams in the world to run and maintain our fleet of EBM machines, created specialised processes and procedures to achieve quality accreditation for Aerospace and Medical device manufacturing (AS/EN9100 & ISO13485, respectively), and commissioned five EBM machines to help keep up with our growing demand.

Our continued commitment to excellence and readiness to meet the challenges of tomorrow drive us forward, and we cannot wait to see where the next 10 years take us.
